Thank you for checking out my blog!
If you are a parent of a
child that is suffering from Alopecia (Areata, Totalis or Universalis), you are
one of the main reasons that I am doing this. My main goal is to try and find an alternative solution for my daughter’s condition, but beyond that, it is take others along
on this journey. There are not many answers for people suffering with Alopecia;
or for the people suffering alongside them. I’ve tried to find blogs and links
to someone that documented their journey – to see what worked and didn’t work
for them. All I’ve found so far is the emotional journey, and for me this is so
depressing and sometimes left me hopeless. So that is why I decided to start
this blog. My goals are:
1). To document my daughters progress/flare ups and be able
to pinpoint what could have caused them
2). To provide information (through our own trials and
testimony) for anyone that is looking
for an alternative to topical steroids (especially for children)
3). To help parents who are looking for other alternatives
to the cause of the condition. The doctors constantly tell us that it is an
auto-immune disease; unrelated to stress or diet. However, after living with my
daughter’s condition for the past two years I believe differently.
4). To provide a support network for people (for parents and
kids) who are trying to cope with the ups and downs of the disease
I hope you join us on this 365 day journey – starting with
January 1 – and that in some way it helps you and your family to cope and
(hopefully) treat this disease in a successful way.
Peace
